Today Starbucks had strange energy. The large and tall woman in front of me was confused about the creation of a cappuccino and kept going in and out the door to confirm several times that her daughter (who was busily finishing off her cigarette on the sidewalk) did indeed want a cappuccino. However things were calmer by the time I reached the happy barista with cute pink braces.
Today she came up with the White Mocha Frappuccino with Raspberry Drizzle. I added the raspberry to make it more colorful. I am not sure if that is why the drink went awry or not, but something was wrong. It was not my favorite. This drink is for people who are yearning after a strong, rich taste that will cure them of wanting any sugar for the rest of the day. It tasted very strongly of syrups, and it was not at all the moonlit garden. It was more like Santa’s workshop on a busy day when the elves are high on sugar cookies. The color was very pretty with the light browns fading into white and then pink. It looked so happy and festive, and the whipped cream was delicious!
I would not choose it a second time, but if you are in the mood for a cool drink with a strong flavor of sugar, and the experience of Santa’s workshop, try the white mocha frappuccino. With or without raspberry drizzle.
